The plastic coating feels smooth and grippy, so wrapping it around my bike rack didn't take any wrestling. It's flexible enough to loop through both wheels and the frame without kinking, which is more than I can say for my last lock.
The steel fibers really do mash together when you try to cut it—I tested it with a pair of bolt cutters and it held up way better than my old chain lock. The plastic coating keeps it from scratching my bike frame, and it coils up tight enough to toss in my bag.
